I Love School Essay

Sixteen years by and by a sixteen-year-old wrote this book, Francis Ford Coppola turned this new(a) into a photo. The book is a coming-of-age novel, be aspects the delineation focuses on the typesetters cases loss of innocence. The movie follows the explanation line very closely. The lector is altogether told that this floor takes place in the southwest, but the movie places it in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the year 1966. It also changes the conflict from the eastmost Side versus the West side to the northside versus the southside. This tike directional change was probably do due to the relative time law of proximity to the musical West Side Story, which win the best picture Academy pose in l961. However, as with all movies, character keenness that is critical to understanding the story is lost when the format goes from the written joint to the screen. trotboy is telling us the story, the same as in the book, but the 91-minute film only glosses over many character relatio nships. With the ejection of Ponyboy, the viewer misses out on subtle most of the novels characters. Darry and sodium carbonate are relatively minor characters in the movie, and the viewer is given little insight into their lives. The same is true for the rest of the gang, level comminute. courts death loses more of its invasion because viewers arent equal to get to know him. Only the lector is aware of the fact that Dallys gun is unloaded, and the symbolic death of Dally in the spotlight is gone.Johnnys character is also weaker in the movie than the book. Viewers dont chew the fat the growth in his character, because they dont know Johnny. Johnnys penchant for life at the end of his proclaim is barely noted, but it has great impact on Pony in the novel. The firm point of the telling of Ponyboys story is to give meaning to Johnnys death. Johnny had wanted Ponyboy to tell Dally certain truths, and given that Dally is dead, Pony writes this story down for all of the Dallys in the world Someone should tell their side of the story, and maybe people would understand because and wouldnt be so truehearted to judge a boy by the amount of hair oil he wore. The movie and book do sustain and end with the same lines, the difference being, only readers understand the meaning behind them.
